 Över byn Artenara - den högst belägna byn på Gran Canaria - vakar en stor Kristusstaty. Man kan också se ingången till en av de gamla grottor som numera används för redskap eller husdjur. Over the village Artenara - the highest situated village in Gran Canaria - is a statue of Christ. In this photo you can see the entrance to one ofthe caves where they nowaddays keep tools or animals.  Här ser vi Kristusstatyn från ett annat håll. The statue of Christ from another direction.  Denna fondmålning finns i kyrkan inne i byn. Men byn är berömd för grottkyrkan Santa Maria de la Cuevita, som ligger högre upp. Dit kunde vi inte gå. This fond painting is in the village church. But this village is more wellknown for the cave church Santa Maria de la Cuevita which is situated higher up. We were not able to climb there.  Här är fasaden och ingången till den restaurant där vi åt lunch. Den ligger alltså till större delen inne i berget. Here you can see the facing and the entrance to the restaurant where we had lunch. The restaurant is mainly inside a cave dug into the cliff
