Prayer September 11, 2001

Pray for our nation USA

In light of today's terrorist attacks,
let us pray for wisdom for our leaders especially President Bush;
let us pray for all the families of the dead and injured;
let us pray for the safety of fireman, police, and recovery crews;
let us pray for the peace, protection and safety of our nation;
let us pray for the safety of our airlines and all transportation centers;
let us pray that God's peace will rule our hearts, not fear;
let us pray that these events will draw our entire nation close to God;
let us pray that these events will draw each of us closer to Jesus, will create a greater dependency upon our Lord;
let us pray for the repentance and salvation of all;
let us pray that God would be glorified above all things.

John 14:26-28 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 16:32-34 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Father,
God bless all my friends in whatever it is
that You know they may be needing this day!
And may their life be full of your peace,
prosperity and power
as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with you.
Amen.

This morning when I wakened
And saw the sun above
I softly said, "Good morning, Lord,
Bless everyone I love."
And right away I thought of you
And said a loving prayer,
That He would bless you specially,
And keep you free from care.
I thought of all the happiness
A day could hold in store,
I wished it all for you because
No one deserves it more.

A Prayer for You

I said a prayer for you today
and know God must have heard,
I felt the answer in my heart
although He spoke no word,
I didn't ask for wealth or fame,
I knew you wouldn't mind,
I asked Him to send treasures
of a far more lasting kind,
I asked that He'd be near you
at the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings
and friends to share your way.
I asked for happiness for you
in all things great and small,
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all.

Alzheimer Prayer

Dear Lord,

Please grant my visitors tolerance for my confusion, forgiveness for my irrationality, and strength to walk with me into the mist of memory my world has become.
Please help them take my hand and stay awhile even though I seem unaware of their presence.
Help them know their strengths and loving care will drift softly into the days to come just when I need it most. Let them know when I don't recognize them, I will . . .
Keep their hearts free of sorrow for me, for my sorrow, when it comes, only lasts a moment, then it is gone.
And finally, Lord, please let them know how very much their visits mean, even through this relentless mystery, I can still feel their love.
